La Digue, Seychelles

La Digue, Seychelles

La Digue is a beautiful little island in the Indian Ocean with a leisurely pace of life, beautiful cliffs and pink beaches. You can get here from Praslin Island by ferry (about half an hour), from Mahe Island – by boat (the same 30 minutes) or by helicopter. Check jibin123 for customs regulations and visa requirements of Seychelles.

There are very few cars on the island, but bicycles are popular, which can be rented in Reunion Bay or right upon arrival on the island, at the La Passe pier.

La Digue Hotels

On tiny La Digue, as on most of the islands of the archipelago, villas and guesthouses are widespread, differing from each other in the convenience of location, level of service and, of course, price.

The beaches of La Digue

The visiting card of the island is the coast of the bay of Source d’Arzhan (“Silver Spring”) with a spectacular panorama of huge granite massifs, pink in the morning and red at sunset.

A long strip of beaches stretches from Cape Barbie, all surrounded by granite rocks. The most remote beaches are located in the bays of Grand Anse, Petit Anse and Anse Coco. These are the most beautiful beaches of the island, the sand there has a pink tint. However, during the southeast monsoon (April to October), the sea becomes rough and swimming on these beaches is dangerous. In addition, you should always pay attention to wooden signs with inscriptions in different languages: “Beware of dangerous currents.”

The main beach of the island is located on the territory of the natural park. Entrance fee ~ 20 SCR.

For snorkelling, it is best to head to the nearby islet of Ile de Cocos.
