Buzius

This small resort town with dozens of hotels is located three hours from Rio (168 km) and 600 km from Sao Paulo.

The resort of international level Buzios is known all over the world for its unique combination of provincial charm and first-class infrastructure. Buzios is a picturesque peninsula with more than 25 beaches (most of them in picturesque bays) suitable for both swimming and water sports: windsurfing, diving, etc. A special atmosphere reigns here, inspired by the unique architecture, the neighborhood of the fishing village, the local flora and fauna. In the Middle Ages, Buzius bays were actively used by pirates and slave traders. In later times, battles between the French and the Portuguese took place over the rich peninsula. Now Buzios is a quiet fishing village, one of the most beautiful places in the world.

The resort gained particular popularity after Brigitte Bardot’s vacation here in 1964. The actress, who spent her holidays with her beloved Brazilian, found real happiness here, hiding from the annoying attention of journalists and photographers. Since then, many foreigners who came on vacation to Buzios have stayed here forever. At the same time, the upper strata of Brazilian society began to move to the resort, bewitched by its pristine beauty and the possibility of absolute solitude.

Attractions Buzius
Church of St. Anne (18th century), the statue of Brigitte Bardot (without a lover), the coral reef of the island of Kaboklu. In addition, tourists cannot avoid walking along the Bardo wooden promenade-terrace, which is built along the Armakau beach. Here are colonial mansions, shops and bars. Another favorite place for tourists to walk is Rua das Pedras, the central street of Buzius.
Emerencias Reserve with typical Atlantic forest vegetation, exotic plants and golden clawed monkeys. Another nearby reserve, Taua, boasts 300 species of butterflies and 60 species of birds.

Entertainment and excursions
The resort has an abundance of restaurants, bars, cafes and nightclubs. Healthier activities: golf (18-hole course), scuba diving (two dive centers operate), windsurfing, trekking, fishing. In addition, concerts and film festivals are often held in Buzius, you can go to an art gallery or go up to the observation deck. The best nightclub in the resort is Privilege.
One of the favorite entertainments of tourists is a three-hour cruise between nearby islands. On board – fresh fruit, obligatory stops for swimming near the picturesque shores and other joys of life are included.
The resort has about 10 surf stations, for beginners and professionals, children and adults, and even one exclusively for women – Surfer Girls. In them you can not only rent equipment, but also a couple of lessons from professional instructors.
The popular annual festival, Annual Jazz, which lasts 4 days, takes place at the end of July. Live music in the bars and nightclubs of the resort all night long; admission is usually free.

Climate
The high season in Buzios is from mid-December to mid-February; resort life becomes more relaxed from March to June and from September to November; however, a pleasant microclimate with rare precipitation and an average annual air temperature of + 26ºС allows you to enjoy a beach holiday in Buzios all year round; here it is twice as sunny and cloudless as in Rio itself.

Praia do forte

One of the most beautiful coastal areas and a fishing village, Praia do Forte has only recently begun to turn into a resort area. The picturesque resort town is located 80 km north of El Salvador and 53 km from the international airport. Several large hotels, shops, banks, restaurants were built here. One of the main attractions remains the sea turtle sanctuary, which can be seen on the beach almost every evening, from December to mid-March.

Praia do Forte offers a wide variety of attractions: the 15th century medieval castle, which is the national heritage of the country. Near the lighthouse is the Tamar Sea-Turtle Project – a project aimed at the conservation of sea turtles, here you can learn a lot of interesting things about the life of these animals and watch them. The Sapiranga Reserve is a unique reserve covering 600 hectares, where all the diversity of the flora and fauna of the region is represented.
Praia do Forte has several beaches, including: the beach at the port – the most popular tourist beach in the resort; Eco-Resort Beach – a more secluded and wild beach in a protected area where you can windsurf; Lord Beach – with natural pools, also popular among vacationers; Papa beach – has a huge natural pool with crystal clear water, where you can see fish at a depth of 3 m, perfect for snorkeling.

Climate
In the resort areas near Salvador, there is always great weather for a beach holiday; most of the precipitation falls from April to August; the sunniest season is from October to March; even during the hottest periods, cool breezes blow from the ocean.
